Conditions of Membership

MEMBERSHIP 

Membership of the Wellington Toy Library is open to any family living in the Wellington Shire, who pay the annual subscription determined by the Committee.

The Committee shall have the right to reject a membership application.

Upon joining the Wellington Toy Library, members will sign a declaration agreeing to abide by the rules of the Library. Failure to abide by the rules will result in cancellation of membership.

Subscription fees can be paid any time of the year. Borrowing rights only commence when subscriptions have been fully paid. 

Concessions are available.
No rebate will be given.
The Toy Library must be notified of any change of address.

Each family shall provide at least two sessions of volunteer work in the Library per year. A roster system is in place to allow members to choose the time they would like to work. This may be outside of regular Toy Library hours. Alternatively, families may pay a $20 duty levy in lieu of their duty.

BORROWING
Each family may borrow a total of three items for a period of 2 weeks.
All toys must be returned by the due date.
Borrowing is to be supervised by an adult. Only adults are to remove toys from the shelves.
Toys are only to be removed from the shelves for borrowing purposes. Toys with multiple parts are not to be played with in the Library. Any toys played with in the Library are to be cleaned and returned to the shelves before leaving.
Failure to return toys on time may incur a fine of $1.00 per toy per week.
Helmets must be worn when using ride-on toys.

 

OVERDUE TOYS
Should any member fail to return a toy within 3 months from the expiry date of the loan period after appropriate notification, the toy will be regarded as lost and the member will be required to pay for the full replacement cost of the toy as determined by the committee.

DAMAGED TOYS AND MISSING PARTS
1. It is the responsibility of the members to check that the number of parts listed on the label corresponds with the actual contents of the box or toy.

2. A member is to pay the total replacement cost, or replace a toy where:
a) A toy is lost
b) A toy is so badly damaged that it cannot be reused
c) A significant part of the toy is missing so that it cannot be used

3. Where the missing part does not affect the working of the toy, a member is to pay a fine of $2.00 for each missing part of the toy.

4. If a lost toy or part is returned in good condition all money paid in fines will be refunded.
